Here's the effect:
Let your spectator think of ANY NUMBER from 1 to 99.
One by one, show him the cards with numbers printed on them.
Each card is different.
Let him search for his chosen number on each card.
The numbers are in order on each card, so it is easy to search!
He tells you YES if his number appears on the card.
If his number is not on the card, he tells you NO.
After all the cards have been searched, you pick them up in your hand.
This is where the theatrics come in!
Pretend that you are trying to get a mental image of the number.
Make it dramatic!
And then- correctly announce the number chosen by the spectator!
